Every week my inbox fills up with offers from cruise lines, tour companies and vacation suppliers. A lot of it is aimed at travel agents, not travelers. But a few are real deals that could save your family good money, as long as you book in time.
So here’s the plan: once a month, I’ll sort through it for you and share the handful of offers worth knowing about, with the booking deadline and the fine print in plain English. Here’s what’s worth a look for October 2026, listed by how soon you’d need to book.
1. Royal Caribbean: Kids Sail Free, Free 3rd & 4th Guests, 60% Off the Second Guest
📅 Book by Oct. 5, 2026
Royal Caribbean’s current sale stacks three offers. The second guest in a cabin gets 60% off their cruise fare. On select sailings, kids 12 and under sail for a $0 cruise fare when they share a cabin with the first two guests. And on select sailings departing through Aug. 20, 2027, the 3rd and 4th guests in the cabin also pay a $0 cruise fare.
The fine print: Kids Sail Free applies to select sailings of 3 nights or longer. Taxes, fees and port expenses still apply to every guest, including the kids. The offers are capacity-controlled and can change or end early. For a sense of pricing, a 7-night Southern Caribbean sailing on Rhapsody of the Seas from San Juan was advertised on Sept. 29 from $491 per person, including taxes and fees (cruise only, based on two people in a cabin). Fares change often.
2. Celebrity Cruises Fall Sale: 75% Off the Second Guest, and 3rd–5th Guests Sail Free
📅 Book by Nov. 5, 2026
Celebrity’s Fall Sale takes 75% off the second guest’s fare when you choose a non-refundable deposit rate, or 50% off with a refundable deposit. On select sailings, the 3rd, 4th and 5th guests in the same stateroom sail with a free cruise fare. That’s a real help if you’re bringing the kids or grandkids.
The fine print: On top of that, you can save up to $700 per stateroom, plus up to $100 more on select sailings. The savings amount rotates with the day of the week you book, so timing matters. The sale covers select sailings through spring 2028. Taxes and fees are extra.
3. Alexander+Roberts: $1,000 Off Per Couple on Small-Group and Private Tours
📅 Book by Nov. 30 and pay in full
If a guided trip abroad is on your list (think a small group with a local guide, not a big tour bus), Alexander+Roberts is taking $1,000 off per couple on all Small Group and Private Journeys of 5 days or more.
The fine print: You must book by Nov. 30 and pay in full to get the savings. It’s good for travel through 2028, so you can lock in a 2027 or 2028 trip now.
4. Cunard Fall Savings Event: Up to 35% Off, and 3rd & 4th Guests Sail Free
📅 Book by Dec. 7, 2026
Cunard’s Fall Savings Event takes up to 35% off the voyage fare on select sailings, with a reduced refundable deposit (12.5%). On select Queen Anne sailings (April 2–Dec. 17, 2027) and Queen Mary 2 sailings (Feb. 14, 2027–Jan. 3, 2028), the 3rd and 4th guests in a stateroom sail with a free voyage fare. Destinations include Canada & New England, the Caribbean, the Mediterranean, Northern Europe and the classic transatlantic crossing.
The fine print: The free 3rd/4th guest offer doesn’t apply to Grill Suites or Club Balcony staterooms. Even “free” guests still pay government taxes and fees plus required cruise fees, which Cunard says run $50 to $420 per person depending on the voyage. The person booking must be 21 or older.
5. Apple Vacations, Funjet & More (ALG Vacations): $100 Premium-Cabin Air Credit
📅 Book by Dec. 31, 2026
If you’d like a little more legroom on the way to the beach, ALG Vacations brands (Apple Vacations, Funjet Vacations, United Vacations, Travel Impressions and Blue Sky Tours) are offering a $100 Premium Cabin Air Credit on packages flying United, American, Delta, Alaska or JetBlue.
The fine print: Book by Dec. 31, 2026, for travel through Dec. 31, 2027. A local note: ALG has also added new nonstop vacation flights for Dec. 18, 2026–Aug. 14, 2027, including from Pittsburgh and new routes from Richmond and Columbus. I’m happy to check whether one of those, or Dulles or BWI, works best for your family.
6. Virgin Voyages (Adults Only): Up to $400 Onboard Credit + Up to $1,000 Off Alaska & Europe
📅 Starts Oct. 1. No end date announced yet, so ask me for the current deadline.
This one’s for the grown-ups. Virgin Voyages is adults-only, so it’s a good fit for an anniversary or a parents’ getaway while the grandparents have the kids. Starting Oct. 1, select Alaska and Europe voyages come with up to $400 in onboard credit plus up to $1,000 in instant savings.
The fine print: Only select voyages qualify, and Virgin hadn’t announced an end date for this offer when I wrote this. Terms and conditions apply.
Want a Quote on Any of These?
These deals only help if they fit your family, your dates and your budget. That’s my job. I’m Derek, your local Eastern Panhandle travel agent at Sawmill D&C LLC. Tell me who’s going, when and roughly what you’d like to spend, and I’ll check the current price, confirm which offers apply and send you a no-pressure quote. Start on the Travel page, email Createmore3316@sawmilldcllc.com, or call (717) 818-3870.
The fine print on the fine print: Offers are listed as the suppliers described them to travel advisors in September 2026. Prices, availability and promotions change often, are capacity-controlled and can be changed or withdrawn by the supplier at any time. All bookings are subject to each supplier’s full terms and conditions. Unless noted, prices are per person, based on double occupancy, and taxes, fees and port expenses may be extra. I’ll confirm current pricing and terms before you book anything.
See you next month with a fresh list. God bless, and safe travels.
